Documents that are printed on a regular basis can be stored in NowPrint File Cabinets. This feature saves time by not having to upload the files from your PC, as well as offering an infrastructure to organize documents online.
By default NowPrint is configured with a corporate file cabinet accessible by all users and a personal file cabinet for each user.
The corporate file cabinet is useful for storing global documents like telephone directories, calendars, newsletters, etc. While everyone can access documents from the corporate file cabinet for production purposes, only the administrator and selected users with appropriate access rights can add files to it.
Every user has full control of their personal file cabinet.
The NowPrint administrator can also add group level file cabinets that are accessible by user belonging to specific departments. For example, the NowPrint administrator can add a file cabinet for Human Resources. Additional file cabinets can be nested under Human resources. The administrator then sets up privileges that only allow employees in the Human Resources department to have access to the Human Resources files cabinets. This is particularly useful for organizing and storing department specific files such as forms and confidential documents.

The File Cabinet is a very powerful feature of NowPrint. File Cabinets enable you to save your documents for future use on the NowPrint server. File Cabinets essentially offer you an e-commerce catalog interface to NowPrint. There are two important benefits that File Cabinets bring:
-- Speed
-- Organization
Speed
Rather than having to upload your document from your PC, you simply select it from a file cabinet for production. Because the file is already on the server you do not have to wait for it to upload over the network. Additionally, all files submitted to NowPrint are automatically converted to Adobe® PDF format. Documents in a file cabinet have already been converted.
When a file is not in a file cabinet you are required to upload it from your PC, unless it is Counter Drop-Off. Depending on the size of the file and the traffic on your network it can take from a few seconds to several minutes.
When your file is in a file cabinet the upload is virtually always instantaneous because it is already on the NowPrint server and already converted to pdf format.
It is important to note that in order for a file to be in a file cabinet you or someone else needs to initially upload it. Every time you upload a file you have the option to save it to a file cabinet. That is why it is important to use the Save Files To when uploading from a PC if you ever anticipate using the file for an order in the future. This is particularly important if the file is large.
Organization
Similar to the way we organize our file on any PC, you would utilize the File Cabinet structure to logically organize your files for future production orders. By storing your files on in NowPrint file cabinets you are essentially creating an online e-commerce catalog to submit production orders of your documents.
