NowDocs, Inc. Background
Founded in 1998, NowDocs was established as a provider of print services with regional distribution centers around the world. In February of 2000, NowDocs launched the www.NowDocs.com website for printing and delivery over the Internet. NowDocs pioneered the NowPrint software that allowed any person from their computer to upload documents using their web browser and preview them on the NowDocs website. Users were able to configure their print, binding, shipping, and payment options and place their order. NowDocs received a United States Patent for this methodology in 2004 (U.S. Patent No. 6,615,234). In 2001, NowDocs exited the print and delivery fulfillment model and focused on the business of developing and marketing the NowPrint software that powered the online print and delivery service.
In 2002 NowDocs was acquired by the Taylor Corporation of North Mankato, Minnesota in order to leverage the NowPrint software to grow their print on demand related revenues and to grow the NowDocs software business.
Over the last 9 years, NowDocs has invested over $40,000,000 to develop the software and related print on demand methodology in order to lead the growing market for web based print and fulfillment. NowDocs has been featured in print and media and has won multiple awards for its technology including “Best of the Web” from Fortune Magazine and CIO Magazine’s 50/50 award for online excellence. In addition, NowDocs was featured on CNN Headline News.
In 2004, NowDocs acquired RxLASER, adding electronic document distribution solutions to our portfolio including the NowForms and NowChecks solutions. In 2005, NowDocs launched the www.checksandtoner.com website to provide customers using our NowChecks software the ability to order all their check printing supplies online.
NowDocs has quickly become a recognized segment leader for its operationally successful integrations of NowPrint, NowForms and NowChecks which utilize a highly scaleable ASP .Net architecture to provide robust document on demand services. Since 1998, the company’s innovative and award winning technologies have helped 4,000 organizations worldwide reduce costs, improve information accuracy and accelerate business processes.*
